The belt measures 69cm in length. Signed with "Mon" stamps to the metal reverse of each disk. The belt is in excellent condition with no damage. A fine Japanese Satsuma 14-panel belt, dating from the Meiji Period. This exceptional and rare example is decorated with various floral shaped disks, featuring Geisha & Bijin women.Flying cranes, flowers and village landscapes. The decoration is applied using various coloured enamels, some in relief, then detailed with gold. Accompanied by a wooden tomobako box of the period.
