Oriental Antiques from Collector to Collector. Having been a collector of Japanese woodblock print, I was immediately attracted to these plates when I first saw them. The scenes that the plates depicted show great influence from woodblock prints by the great Hokusai and Hiroshige. The fine and detail painting of blue over-the-glaze enamel that first appear like cobalt blue under-the-glaze is unusual and rare.

According to my research, the iron red signature on the back is "Uekido" , Japanese Kutani-yaki Yokohama ware of late Meiji period. Each plate is 8.30 diameter (21.08 cm). Items are in great condition with no damage such as chips or cracks or hairlines.

Please study photos carefully for further condition detail. The item "THREE Japanese Meiji Satsuma Kutani Plates Inspired by Hokusai Hiroshige Prints" is in sale since Thursday, April 22, 2021.
